Hair Transplantation

Two out of three adult men eventually experience balding. A significant number of women also suffer progressive hair loss. It tends to increase in severity with age, but not evenly so. There will be periods of heavy loss and at other times the loss will be scarcely evident. It is, however, progressive and permanent. The degree and rate of hair loss will generally depend upon hereditary factors. That is to say, the genetic makeup of the individual controls the extent of male (and often female) pattern baldness.

Fortunately although we may be predisposed to hair loss, there is an area on our heads where the hair is genetically programmed never to fall out. This area is the horseshoe-shaped rim of hair around the back and sides of the head. Hair follicles can be removed inconspicuously from this donor area and permanently transplanted to the areas where hair is thinning or has been lost. The transplanted hair doesn’t know it is in a different place and will continue to grow throughout your life. It is your own natural, healthy hair to style any way you choose.

Dr. Buchwach’s goal in every patient is to create a natural appearance that will look great forever. To achieve this requires accurate planning and design as well as an artistic concept of how each patient can look his or her best. Long gone are the days of conspicuous hair transplants. Making it undetectable is the key. Finally you should know that this procedure is safe and comfortable, allowing one to resume normal activities very quickly.
